The Green Bay Packers have (or perhaps already had) a pre-draft visit scheduled with Liberty cornerback Walt Aikens.
Unlike most of the guys the Packers have been bringing in for visits, Aikens is a guy that’s surely going to get drafted, despite his small-school roots.
After a strong showing at the Senior Bowl, Aikens could reportedly go as high as the third round. It certainly doesn’t hurt that he ran a 4.4 40.
This guy has been making the rounds, though. He has done or is scheduled for 10 visits and six private workouts.
Aikens had 62 tackles and three interceptions as a senior.
The Packers don’t have an immediate need for a cornerback, which is one of the team’s most well-stocked positions. However, you know how Big Ted does it. Best available player (or so he’ll tell you).
