In honor of Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson actually doing his job and making a substantial free agent signing, we thought we’d look back to the last time he did something in March to earn his paycheck.
The year was 2006. The Packers were coming off an injury-ravaged 4-12 season where they lost their top four running backs at one time or another. Thompson was in just his second season as general manager.
What did the world look like at the time? Well, it was a weird and wild place that you probably wouldn’t recognize today. Or maybe you would, but let’s pretend you wouldn’t.
Jump in the Total Packers time machine with us for a moment. We promise to have you back for dinner so you can further bask in the glow of Big Ted and Julie Peppers.
