[tps_title]Aqib Talib, New England Patriots[/tps_title]
In 2012, Aqib Talib had a questionable NFL future. The former first-round pick was traded to New England during the season by Tampa. The trade came during a four-game suspension for using a performance-enhancing drug, which Talib claimed was Adderall.
He’s been nothing but solid since he became a Patriot and hasn’t been in trouble since the suspension.
In 2013, Talib played in 13 games, recording 41 tackles, four picks, 14 passes defended and a forced fumble. He just turned 28.
Unlike Grimes, Verner and possibly Shields, Talib probably isn’t going to get some crazy contract offer in free agency. He’s a solid veteran presence at this point in his career.
That might be just what the doctor ordered.
