The Green Bay Packers weren’t as definitive as they were in saying quarterback Aaron Rodgers would return this week, but there appears to be a chance receiver Randall Cobb could join him.
Cobb has been on injured reserve since breaking his leg on October 3. However, he returned to practice last week and is doing more this week.
When asked if Cobb would play this week, coach Mike McCarthy didn’t rule it out.
“I feel a lot better now than I probably did this morning,” McCarthy said. “But he definitely took a step in that direction.”
The decision will likely come down to Friday’s practice.
The Packers do have an open roster spot for Cobb. When they placed Johnny Jolly and Brandon Bostick on injured reserve last week, they didn’t add anyone to the roster.
