After missing week three with a concussion, Green Bay Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy has been cleared to play. Lacy was a full participant in practice on Monday and coach Mike McCarthy says he’ll go this week.
“I thought Eddie practiced well today,” McCarthy said after Monday’s practice. “So it was good to have him back out there. He’s full go, and I think the week off definitely helped him.”
More good news is Johnathan Franklin, who ran for 103 yards against Cincinnati, also practiced on Monday. Franklin hurt his ankle in that game.
So what’s the bad news? You know there has to be some.
Ed Werder just reported that the Packers expect James Starks to miss a couple weeks with his knee injury. Starks ran for 132 yards in week two and had 55 in week three before getting hurt.
Unlike the Cincinnati game, the Packers won’t just be rolling with two running backs, though. They brought up Michael Hill from the practice squad yesterday and while we doubt he’ll be a big contributor, at least he provides some insurance.
Obviously, these guys just drop like flies when they wear the green and gold.
