Packers Will Go With Two Running Backs on Sunday

Eddie Lacy

Nothing has changed on the injury front for the Green Bay Packers, which means they’ll be light at running back on Sunday.

Both Eddie Lacy and John Kuhn sat out Friday’s practice. Lacy is listed as questionable with a concussion, but coach Mike McCarthy said yesterday he’d need to practice on Friday to play on Sunday. Kuhn is out with a hamstring injury and is listed as doubtful, meaning tight end Andrew Quarless is your fullback this week.

It also means James Starks and Johnathan Franklin are the only healthy running backs. So hopefully Starks doesn’t suffer his annual injury this week.

The Packers will also be thin in the secondary for the second straight week. Cornerback Casey Hayward was ruled out with a hamstring injury earlier this week. Safety Morgan Burnett was also ruled out on Friday… with a hamstring injury.

And last, but not least… or yeah, probably least… cornerback Jarrett Bush sat out practice on Friday, as well. He has… wait for it… a hamstring injury!

The secondary will have Tramon Williams and Sam Shields at the corners and most likely Davon House in the slot. M.D. Jennings will be joined by Jerron McMillian and undrafted rookie Chris Banjo will likely also see some playing time.

I imagine that Cobb would have to be the emergency 3rd back, right?

I heard Meriweather was fined a measly 42k for that hit on Lacy. Stupid. He seriously needs to be suspended if he keeps playing like that.

And on top of the measly $42k fine, he has the audacity to appeal it.. Clearly he’s going to change right?

Wheel route with Quarless. They’ll never see that coming.

Didn’t I say the Packers should keep Alex Green because of their injury history at RB?

Whatever. I guess if that is what it took to keep Barrington and Palmer on the roster.

Hopefully we get to see Franklin a little. Throw the guy the ball.

Still don’t get why they aren’t grooming Micah to play Free Safety. He has some coverage and ball skillz and can disguise and blitz like a poor man’s Leroy Butler…

Quarless better have sticky hands. No turnovers!
