[tps_title]Ted Hendricks (1974)[/tps_title]
Ted Hendricks AKA The Mad Stork is a Hall of Famer. He was a Pro Bowler and a first-team All Pro in 1974 for the Green Bay Packers. Unfortunately, that’s the only season he played for the Packers. The Colts traded Hendricks to the Packers prior to the 1974 season. At the time he was in the option year of his contract and also had a futures contract with the World Football league. When the WFL folded, Hendricks became a limited free agent. And as the Packers liked to do in those days, they low-balled him, despite the fact he was coming off a season where he blocked seven kicks and had five picks, a safety and a fumble recovery. Al Davis sent two first-round picks to the Packers for the rights to Hendricks and the rest is history. On a side note, the Packers needed the picks after they got raped in the John Hadl trade during the 1974 season, but they lost one of the best linebackers of all time in the process.
