Packers Throwback Uniforms Are Back: Your Need to Know

Packers throwback uniforms

Those of you who love throwback uniforms, rejoice! The Green Bay Packers throwback uniforms will return in 2013 after a one-year hiatus.

They’ll make their appearance during the Packers Oct. 20 game against the Cleveland Browns.

Who is pumped about this? You, me, Aaron Rodgers and Tim Masthay!

“@timmasthay: Pumped we r wearing the alternate unis for a game this year.By far the most comfortable football pants I’ve ever worn” Ginge

— Aaron Rodgers (@AaronRodgers12) May 6, 2013

The Packers unveiled these throwbacks in 2010 and they’re patterned after the team’s 1929 uniforms. The difference being the numbers on the chest of the originals were a lot smaller and the helmets were leather. Hence the reason the current throwback helmets are brown.

These were also the unis Donald Driver scored the greatest touchdown of his career in. Surely, you remember this.

On top of it all, the Packers are playing the Browns, who have worn throwback uniforms for their entire history.

The Packers were undefeated in 1929, and to my knowledge, they are undefeated while wearing the throwbacks.

So, I’d advise wearing them at least a couple times a year.

I’m disappointed we are playing the Browns while wearing them. We could beat the Browns while wearing unis from the 70’s.

Seriously, if you look back at some teams throwbacks, you realize they never should’ve changed the design. Bills, Cowboys, and even the Vikings are some teams that have some kick ass throwbacks and partly ruined their identity when they changed them.

Bucs had some cool “old” unis as well; the Bills wanted to change their identity, as for the Vikings, yeah that identity has pretty much remain unchanged, though more thuggish.

have you ever seen the Steelers throwbacks?…now that is U-G-L-Y……….

It’s all opinion, I like the blue jersey. Secondly, it doesn’t matter what uniform the Vikings wear because they will never be “kick ass”. Ass kicked is more the term.

Iltarion, the Packers could beat the Browns wearing space suits. Lol!

Shiiiit, they could be beat the Browns wearing Halloween costumes from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
