It looks like the Green Bay Packers aren’t going to have their starting outside linebackers back after the bye. Clay Matthews, who pulled a hamstring on Sunday, is expected to miss a couple weeks.
That means he probably won’t be ready when the Packers face the Detroit Lions in week 10 and possibly the New York Giants in week 11. The news on Nick Perry is worse. He’s seeking a second opinion on his injured knee, which means it isn’t healing.
In Perry’s absence, Erik Walden has played well, so his continued absence isn’t as much of a concern. Matthews’ on the other hand is.
The Packers would be forced to go with rookie Dezman Moses or Frank Zombo opposite Walden if neither Matthews or Perry are healthy. Teaming Perry with Walden would be much more palatable than teaming Moses with Walden, but that’s what the Packers are facing right now.
That is, unless Matthews proves to be a quick healer.
did not understand for sure during the mm press conference what a couple of weeks meant. Its two weeks till their next game. I was also surprised to hear that np is not healing. it is time to get healthy for the stretch run and acturally make an impact in the playoffs.
Man, the injury bug. What the Fuck.
I handled the Woodson news well. I didn’t think we’d need him the last 2 games…
But this is mild-panic. We need Clay Matthews. We will be hurten bad at Detroit & at NY without him.
Hamstrings don’t exactly heal quickly either.
Desmond Bishop, Jordy Nelson & now Clay Matthews = all hurt hamstrings.
Trainers suck.
It sounded like Nelson and Kuhn would be back after the bye. So, that is the good news.
We’ll see about Matthews. MM said the injury wasn’t as bad as the last time he tweaked it. Even with annual hamstring issues, he has only missed one game.
Perry has a sprained LCL, according to him. That is an injury he can play with. However, being a #1 draft pick, rookie, the Packers may take it slow with him. Dezman Moses was showing some flash last week. He should be even quicker on the turf at D-troi.
Bryan Bulaga has the most serious injury, likely. The Packers MIGHT be able to get by without him. Lang has shown himself to be a decent tackle before, but one more injury on that line and the Packers are in Arizona Cardinals type trouble.
missing bulaga for DET and NYG on the road is just plain FUCKED
Deja Vu all over again… Feel like I’ve time warped back 2 years…
Pack can take another L….. maybe 2…. And still make wild card. Worse thing to do is rush these guys back before they ate healed.
Need to be ready for end spurt…
we need to hire a yoga instructor to stretch this team out every week. pulled hammy’s suck very much badly…………
