Today is the day when the NFL announces their weekly award winners and Green Bay Packers cornerback Davon House is among them.
House won the NFC special teams player of the week award, basically for blocking that punt in the second quarter against Jacksonville. So now we know — one awesome play can get you an award from the NFL.
Well, maybe not you, but Davon House.
House isn’t really known as a special teams demon. If anyone on the Packers is that, it’s Jarrett Bush.
However, House is a better cornerback than Bush. With Charles Woodson injured, House played extensively on Sunday. He had four tackles.
But this is about special teams and he blocked that punt. Good thing Jacksonville only had 10 guys on the field and didn’t bother to block him.
This dude can play ball…
I’m loven House as a starting nickel or a corner too…
Jacksonville & Arizona are good prep teams for him
His height and size create problems for taller WR’s that have come accustom to playing against smaller corners. This is another hidden gem that Fast Teddy found in last years’ draft. Now, he just needs to stay healthy.
We’re deep at every position this year… Just hope that it equates to another superbowl ring.
Go pack go!
Exactly…dude is tall & can lay the wood too. I love a corner that ain’t afraid to hit a fool in the chops.
He’s only 6’0″, 195 lbs., average size. Wood is a little bigger. But I like how he came in against the Rams and broke up that ridiculous 4th down, 1st quarter play. He plays more physically than our other DBs. In one year we went from paper thin on D to depth everywhere. TGFTT.
The Packers only had 10 players on the field, the Jags had 11
I agree these “Gems” in line behind the marquee players are fascinating to watch, with exception to RB and QB, I shudder to think of Harrell coming into play.
Did AZ Pack say the Packers are deep at every position?…hmmm…AZ? Tell me about the O line depth.
