The Oakland Raiders have signed a member of the Green Bay Packers practice squad — cornerback Brandian Ross.
Ross made the Packers final roster, but then was released when Erik Walden returned from his one-game suspension. After that move was made, the Packers cut running back Marc Tyler from the practice squad and added Ross.
Well, the Raiders plucked Ross on Wednesday, signing him to their active roster. General manger Reggie McKenzie, who was formerly with the Packers, is a Ted Thompson protege.
What’s even more interesting is Ross probably now has a chance to see some game action. The Raiders have started former Green Bay second-round bust Pat Lee, who McKenzie signed as a free agent in the offseason. In two games, Lee has five tackles and has broken up one pass.
Here’s another interesting nugget. The Packers now have a spot open on the practice squad. The Minnesota Vikings released receiver Tori Gurley from theirs earlier this week.
Just sayin…
