Although nothing is definitive, it’s possible Green Bay Packers linebacker Desmond Bishop could miss the season, according to Rob Demovsky.
Bishop suffered a hamstring injury against San Diego on Thursday night and had to be carted off the field. A source told Demovsky the fear is Bishop could miss a good portion if not the entire season because of the injury.
Doctors are still running tests.
In Bishop’s absence, D.J. Smith would take over the starting spot. Smith played well when filling in for A.J. Hawk last season and while Bishop was out with a calf injury to open training camp.
Next man up. DJ Smith has the same golden chance Nick Barnett had right in front of him. Rest 55 til he can come back, maybe when hargrove & neal can too. Those 3 back for the stretch run, that’d help.
Well, shit.
Chuck’s right-next man up.
GO PACK GO!
well said Chuck
Ruptured hamstring. Odd injury. Sounds like something that would be easy to tweak in future years.
It is DJ Smith’s time. Bishop basically did one thing for this team- he tackled. That’s all we need Smith to do.
BTW, looks like we are actually going to sign Cedric Benson. Surprising.
I’m telling you folks, I’ve been high on the draft of Terrell Manning. It’s a big mix in the MLB corps but I have a feeling this young man will make a difference before this season is over. Call me clairvoyant!
oh the joy of smash-mouth preseason football…
If there was a spot we could have an injury it was here I think smith is an all-pro in the future just has a knack for making plays and will be solid in replacement.
Good for Hawk too. Of course, it’s hard to get injured when you’re the last guy to the tackle pile.
After Bishop went out Smith went in and seemed to be involved in every single play/tackle of the game. Honestly he looked quicker than Bishop and just as aggressive. Could be his time.
