While the Detroit Lions are making a strong run at the title, we all know the Minnesota Vikings are the true scumbags of the NFL. Early Saturday morning, running back Adrian Peterson carried on the long and glorious Vikings tradition of being a complete and total sack of shit by getting arrested for resisting an officer.
Peterson was in a Houston club with friends, who were asked to leave when the venue closed. That’s when things got scandalous.
Houston Police Department spokesperson Kese Smith said the man identified himself as a police officer. The officer left to tell other patrons to leave the club before returning to Peterson’s group again to tell it to leave.
Smith said Peterson turned around and told the officer that he heard him the first time and pushed him in the shoulder, causing him to stumble. The officer told Peterson he was under arrest and to put his hands behind his back. Peterson began yelling, pulled away and “assumed an aggressive stance,” so another off-duty officer came to help. Peterson continued to struggle with both.
The 27-year-old player finally was handcuffed with the help of a third off-duty officer.
What a dipshit.
Peterson posted bond and is out of jail, but is due in court on Friday. The charge is a misdemeanor.
You can bet the NFL will be suspending Peterson for the incident, which is great because it will allow the Vikings to suck even more in 2012.
