As pretty much everyone expected all along, the Miami Dolphins will go hard after Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Matt Flynn.
The Dolphins, like everyone else, have been sitting around waiting for Peyton Manning to do something. Manning doesn’t appear likely to sign with Miami and it looks like the team is ready to move on. They’ve scheduled a visit with Flynn, which is supposed to take place after he leaves Seattle. Or perhaps IF he leaves Seattle. Flynn met with the Seahawks today and is scheduled to continue his stay tomorrow.
Unless Seattle blows Flynn away with a huge contract offer, we fully expect him to go to Miami, where he’d be reunited with his former offensive coordinator Joe Philbin. Not that Flynn couldn’t be successful in Seattle, but you’d think he’d have the best chance of doing so by stepping into an offense he already knows.
You have to wonder what Miami will do if Seattle steals Flynn. Last season’s starter, Chad Henne, signed with Jacksonville, the free agent market is pretty barren at quarterback after Flynn and there are only three quarterbacks projected to go in the first round of the draft. Two will certainly be gone by the time Miami picks and the third might be a reach.
Seattle, on the other hand, can always throw it back to our old friend Tarvaris Jackson. Hahahahaha!
I hope Flynn signs with Miami. A combination of weather, coaching, and system are all in his favor there. Plus I am sure The Dolphins will fork out a pretty penny for him. My money is on Miami landing moses beard Matt.
Good luck with that, chumps (Phibin not included). You probably had a shot before you wasted all your time going after Manning.
