Harris’ Return To Lambeau Not Likely To Be A Good One

Al Harris
Harris has his work cut out for him.

If you’re like us, you probably forgot former Green Bay Packers cornerback Al Harris was still playing football.

Harris plays for this week’s Packers opponent, the St. Louis Rams, and he looks like he’s in line to start against his former mates, which isn’t exactly a good thing.

Harris was signed to be a backup, but the Rams are so ravaged with injuries Harris is going to get a heavy dose of playing time. The Rams top three corners — Ronald Bartell, Jerome Murphy and Bradley Fletcher — are all out with injuries. That leaves Harris, Justin King and Rod Hood to face The Aaron Rodgers Show.

The Packers are fourth in the league in passing offense, averaging 329 yards per game. Expect this one to get ugly fast.

Best memory of Al: pick 6 against Matt Hasselbeck in OT during the playoffs where at the coin toss he said “we’ll take the ball, and we’re going to score!” Well, Al put a stop to that nonsense pretty quick! :)

He may be over the hill, but I’ve never doubted Al before and I won’t do it now. I haven’t watched him in STL but he was always a good corner IMO.

    Plaxico Burress thought so too.

    You forgot Matt Hasselbeck

It’ll be good to see those killer dreads in Lambeau again. For old time sake I would like to see him get a pick six off of Matt Flynn in garbage time to make the score 56-7 Pack, and then have him do a Lambeau leap into the arms of forever appreciative Green Bay fans.
    Rock on, Al Harris.

I was at the game where Al got the pick six in the wildcard playoff game the 03′ season against Hasselback. We won the division after piss pounding Denver and the Viqueens losing to Arizona in the final minutes. Ahh good times.
