We suspect this will turn into nothing, but [intlink id=”196″ type=”category”]Indianapolis Colts[/intlink] owner Jim Irsay spent some time in Brett Favre’s hometown of Hattiesburg, Miss. this weekend.
The Colts have discussed the possibility of adding a veteran quarterback to start the season if Peyton Manning isn’t ready. Their franchise had neck surgery in the offseason and hasn’t taken a snap this preseason.
Speculation has been rampant that Irsay is interested in signing Favre ever since he tweeted his whereabouts on Sunday.
There’s been no indication Irsay has had any contact with Favre or his agent Bus Cook, but what else would an NFL owner show up in Hattiesburg for?
Manning’s current backup is Curtis Painter, a sixth-round pick by the Colts in 2009.
Hope it happens
What did he mean by his tweet b4 that one???

I believe that it is a reference to an old blues song by Robert Johnson called Me and The Devil Blues.
So he’s basically calling Brent the Devil…
I hope they bring in old Brent and go 5 and 11.
Ok, I’ll say it…Irsay wasn’t in Miss. It was a JOKE people, Monty?…wtf? c’mon…You that gullible? Peyton will start the season. Sept 11th, come back and read my post here. Monty, if you need some better articles…give me a shout. A signing bonus will be involved.
They try to pass these articles off on nfl.com as well. I was actually expecting to see a post on here about the Brent impersonator who was signing autographs at practices.
