Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Erik Walden looks like a long shot to play in Super Bowl XLV.
Walden, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the NFC Championship game, did not participate in Saturday’s jog-through practice.
“Erik’s going to have to show us something before the game,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “Obviously we’re going over early, two o’clock, so we’ll have a decision right there at the deadline.”
If Walden cannot play, Frank Zombo will start.
Zombo is returning after a six-game absence. He started eight games for the Packers this season, but Walden has outperformed him since being inserted into the starting lineup in week 15.
