It’s just that simple for the Green Bay Packers.
Despite the loss to the New England Patriots dropping them to 8-6, the Packers simply need to win their last two games to make the playoffs as a wild card.
The Chicago Bears will clinch the NFC North with a win tonight against the Joe Webb-led Minnesota Vikings. That will leave the Packers with one opportunity to make the playoffs.
Thankfully, the New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers crapped themselves and lost, yesterday. The Giants somehow managed to blow a 21-point fourth quarter lead and lose to Philadelphia 38-31. The Bucs, meanwhile, managed to lose to the suddenly powerful Detroit Lions, at home.
That leaves New York at 9-5 and Tampa Bay at 8-6.
Without getting into all the nonsensical tie-breaking scenarios, if all three teams finish 10-6, the Packers will get a wild card berth.
The Packers finish at home with the Giants and Chicago.
Then there is only one thing left to do…win the whole fucking thing. Yeah!
Emotionally the Giants should be a total mess. We better be up for this game and take it to them right out of the gate.
And Bert just got upgraded to questionable for tonight…not sure that’s good or bad for us.
If Bert plays tonight, he has a certifiable problem and should be checked into rehab, ASAP. Who the eff would want to play a meaningless game, for the Vikings, on a shit field in sub-20s weather? It is going to be fricking COLD out there. That I can guarantee.
Shitty thing about the Packers taking the Wild Card is that for the 2nd year in a row we would play our week 17 opponent twice in two weeks. The good thing about that is CHI isn’t too frickin good and if we won that game, we’d get to go to ATL instead of PHI.
