The Green Bay Packers thoroughly dominated the Dallas Cowboys, last night, dropping them to 1-7.
During the game, several of us noted how dim-witted, confused and totally out of it Dallas coach Wade Phillips looked. It’s like he was daydreaming while his team was being taken apart by the Packers, to the tune of 45-7.
Afterward, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said there would be changes.
Today, Jones let the ax fall on Phillips. It was a predictable move, even though Jones previously stated he wouldn’t fire Phillips during the season.
Offensive coordinator Jason Garrett will take over in Dallas.

we will be known as the coach killers after next week… if childress can last that long…
Now for a 40 point blowout at Minnesota in two weeks, thus sending Chilly packing.
no, thank you. Chilly needs to stick around until Leslie Frazer gets a job elsewhere. Frazer looks like he might be able to coach, whereas we already know Chilly cannot.
Indeed, the Packers have the ability to knock out two coaches in consecutive games.
As Abe mentioned, I agree I would prefer that Chilly stay where he is, however.
I must also support that notion; keep Childress there for as long as possible.
I heard they need someone to play Piglet for Winney the Pooh on ice. Maybe Wade will find a job after all! If they’re looking for someone to play Eyore Romo would have something to do while he heals.
If Matt Millen can get a job, i have no qualms about saying Wade will be employed before too long – probably just as a D Coordinator, though.
