This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, but Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his play against the Dallas Cowboys.
This is the second time Matthews has won the award, this season. He also has a defensive player of the month award to his credit, for the month of September.
Against Dallas, Matthews had four tackles, a sack and an interception, which he returned for a touchdown.
Matthews leads the NFL in sacks with 10.5 and is currently the front runner for the NFL Defensive Player of the Year, an award Charles Woodson won last season.

perhaps I’m splitting hairs, but the ellipses makes it seem as if winning the award is no big deal. Personally, I think it’s awesome that we’ve got such an incredible playmaker on the team and I’m happy that the NFL and all the fans recognize that.
The claymaker!!!!
