Sterger Lawyers Up, Favre Still Has Nothing To Say

Please focus on football and not my dick.

Well, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre had a conference call with Wisconsin reporters today and it was, predictably, boring.

Even the hacks in Wisconsin are questioning him about the dick photos he allegedly texted to Jenn Sterger when they both were with the New York Jets. Staying true to form, Favre didn’t bite.

“That’s a league matter,” Favre said. “That’s the way it stands. It’s a league issue. Leave it at that.”

Favre met with Milt Ahlerich, VP of security for the NFL, yesterday. There’s no word on what happened in the meeting, but Deadspin editor A.J. Daulerio received a request for a meeting, today. Deadspin ran the initial story and the NFL’s request is an obvious sign they are taking the investigation seriously.

Meanwhile, Sterger, who up to this point has declined to be interviewed by the NFL, has hired the LaRusso and Conway law firm to represent her. For what? We don’t know.

Lawyer Joseph Conway said Wednesday his firm will advise Sterger “and pursue any potential remedies that may exist.” Conway declined to comment further.

As for the investigation…

NFL vice president for security Milt Ahlerich will create a report from the interview with Favre, and that material will be reviewed by other league officials involved in this investigation, league sources told ESPN’s Ed Werder. Based on that review, they will determine whether others should be interviewed and renew efforts to convince Sterger and two Jets team massage therapists to speak.

To date, Ahlerich and his security department have had no success in attempts to interview Sterger. Without Sterger’s cooperation the investigation could hit a dead end as early as this week, sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen on Sunday.

There has been some speculation Sterger is waiting to meet with the NFL because she’s seeking hush money from Favre.
