Rest easy, Green Bay Packers nation. There’s a good chance quarterback Aaron Rodgers will play against Miami on Sunday.
Rodgers, who suffered a concussion against Washington, has been cleared by doctors and returned to practice on a limited basis, Thursday. The quarterback had to be cleared both in house and by an outside specialist.
Unless he suffers a setback tomorrow, Rodgers should be the Packers starting quarterback, this week.
“Aaron Rodgers was limited today at practice, and he’ll be evaluated by the medical staff. But as far as his availability for the game, it will really still come down to the medical staff fully clearing him,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. “He was limited today and we’ll see how he feels tomorrow.”
McCarthy went on to say he felt Rodgers practiced well.
Meanwhile, neither linebacker Clay Matthews or defensive end Ryan Pickett practiced for the second straight day. It’s starting to look like both players will be game-time decisions.
Tight end Donald Lee, who is battling a chest injury, surprisingly returned to practice and may be able to play this week, as well.
“He went out there and practiced, and that was a nice surprise. That was one player that was going in the right direction. It was good to see that. But as always, we’ll see how he is tomorrow,” McCarthy said.
Without Lee, the Packers would face the prospect of going into the Miami game with only rookie Andrew Quarless and Tom Crabtree, a former practice squad player. Starter Jermichael Finley is out for an extended period with a torn meniscus.
While the Packers got some good news with Lee, they got some bad news with linebacker Brandon Chillar.
Chillar has missed the last two games, but practiced on Wednesday. He experienced soreness in his injured shoulder Thursday and was held out. It appears doubtful he’ll play this weekend.

thank christ… still one of many we need to return though…
A-Rodge and Matthews are the two important guys. As long as they play, the Pack still has a chance to beat anyone.
The Dolphins always come ready to play, but I believe the Pack should be favored as long as A-Rodge and Matthews play.
A-rodg should play and Clay should be back as well. Time to get back on track with Harris and Bigby coming back soon.
