After signing two linebackers yesterday, the Green Bay Packers signed a third, today.
Erik Walden, a 6-2, 250-pound outside linebacker from Middle Tennessee State, was added to the Packers roster this morning.
Walden is in his fourth year in the NFL. He spent his first season in Kansas City and the past three with Miami. He has 23 career tackles as a special teams player.
He was released by the Dolphins earlier this year after he missed an assignment on a punt that led to a block.
The Packers now have 11 linebackers on the roster, although the three they’ve signed this week will probably only see action on special teams.
The team will eventually have to account for the three players on the physically unable to perform list — Al Harris, Atari Bigby and James Starks — when they’re activated. It’s beginning to look like that won’t be this week, however.
