Safety Atari Bigby may be activated off the physically unable to perform list for the Green Bay Packers game with the New York Jets this weekend.
Coach Mike McCarthy says he hasn’t ruled Bigby out, but he has ruled out cornerback Al Harris, who is in the same position as the safety.
“We’ll finalize that tomorrow. But, Al Harris, I will not bring him up tomorrow. Atari I’m still looking at. It will be another week for Al,” McCarthy said on Friday.
The Packers thinking in the matter could be tied directly to their opponent. The Jets are a power running team with backs LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene and Bigby’s strength is playing close to the line of scrimmage and stopping the run.
Tomlinson has 490 yards and a gaudy 5.3 yards per carry average on the season. Greene has 323 yards and 4.5 yards per carry average.
The Packers would have to make a roster move if they activate Bigby.

It’s in the bag now, the”one big hit and I’m outta here guy is back”can’t wait to see what quarter he goes down in.
Shut up you fucking harpy!
i second that!!!!
I was a big fan of bigby before the lingering injuries diminished his play. hope he’s all healed up. Good thing he signed a high tender, if he plays the way he likes to, hes getting fined hard.
let al harris play ive been waiting for what feels like years!!!!!
