For the second week in a row, a member of the Green Bay Packers has nabbed an NFC player of the week honor. This time, linebacker Clay Matthews won the defensive award.
Kicker Mason Crosby won the special teams award following week one.
Matthews had three sacks and five tackles against the Buffalo Bills in week two. More impressively, Sunday was Matthews second three-sack game in a row.
As you would expect, Matthews leads the NFL in that category. Houston’s Mario Williams is second with four.

Let’s hope he keeps up the pressure two defensive players of the year back to back would be pretty beast
I am starting to think that we got one of the best LBs in the league let alone the 09 draft. He is setting the barr for the rest of the LB crew with the Pack and so far, I dont know if I remember another LB the Packers had who played with so much passion and aggression as him. Im just a fan, but I really enjoy watching him light up team after team and I know that the rest of the team gets fired up watching him play too. Great play is contagious and I hope it continues all the way to the superbowl.
Guess who’s going to want a new deal next year. They better pay him.
CLAY MATTHEWS III=BEAST! AND THE 2010-2011 NFL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR!!
