Glenn Beck is an idiot, this we know.
However, I had to laugh when Beck called Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher a neo-nazi.
Here’s the setup.
Beck was one of 33 people named to TheRoot.com list, The Blackest White Folks We Know. It makes little sense to include a rambling conservative talk show host, but here was the explanation.
The emotional right-wing talk show was probably the last person on earth we’d put on this list until he discovered that blacks have been all but removed from the history of America’s founding, and actually gave a black history lesson on his cable TV show. Yet we suspect we’ll have to revoke it after his upcoming rally at the Lincoln Memorial on the “I Have a Dream” speech anniversary.
So, Beck put up photos of the other people on the list and tried to name them. He was able to name a few — Madonna, Anderson Cooper, and Bill Clinton, among others.
When he got to Urlacher’s picture he says, “I think this guy is a neo-nazi.”
Obviously, Beck has no clue who Urlacher is, but now that I think of it, Urlacher does kind of look the part.
I mean, the skinhead look is so 2010.
Thanks to Sports By Brooks for digging this up.

Riiiight, because Beck was clearly not being sarcastic at all. I love liberal talking points: If I disagree with someone, I will call them idiots. Brilliant.
“If I disagree with someone, I will call them idiots.”
Actually I think Rush Limbaugh invented that one.
What is liberal about this blog post? The fact that Monty calls Beck an idiot? Hell, most of my conservative friends would agree with that.
Yeah I guess everything else Glenn Beck has said has had so much credence and “facts” behind it. He reminds me of the media personality from V for Vendetta.
I’d also rather be associated with people that call someone an idiot for disagreeing with them than people than call the other side socialists, unpatriotic, immoral, un-American, etc. (you get the idea). You tell me which is more absurd and dangerous.
Yes, sarcasm does make jokes about Nazism (in the context of a website made by black Americans who’ve decided to bestow upon a few white Americans the title of “honorary black person”) much more palatable.
Glenn Beck might not actually be an idiot. He’s just a manipulative sensationalist pundit, like most others (though his views and popularity are alarming at this point). A nice, uncontroversial example is his re-writing of Thomas Paine’s ‘Common Sense’ to make it sound as if he was a conservative reactionary. I don’t think Beck would be happy to know Paine was a supporter/developer of such ideas as a child tax credit, citizen’s dividend, and social security.
Whadda ya mean, Patrick? That rational has worked very well for Matt Fox and Jeff Iricink so far.
The Karma police returned the favor for he cheap shot Urlacher gave AR last year by having him break his wrist and miss the season. As far as i’m concerned, he may as well be a neo nazi. It’s my favorite line from the Blues Brothers “I hate Illinois Nazi’s”
I mean Abe, you’re the one who does that and takes notes from fox news…. so yeah.
lame, tired, pathetic, and weak. really, you’re not even trying anymore.
look at glenn beck’s intials “GB”…
so it’s no wonder why he’s trash talking a bear player….
it’s his primal instincts!
You must have a very small phallus, and drive a very big car as compensation. Why don’t you provide information to prove him wrong? He backs up everything he says, and you call names. Which of you has more credibility?
Glenn Beck is credible?! Ha Ha HA Good one DICK! Hey Cap…GB as in Green Bay is a lot older than doucheface Becks initials. Bitchslap for you.
