It looks like Green Bay Packers’ cornerback Tramon Williams did sign his restricted free agent tender before the team-imposed June 15 deadline.
That fact was confirmed today by the league. Williams is scheduled to make $3.1 million this season.
For some reason, Williams’ name did not appear on the NFL’s transaction list on Tuesday. Meanwhile, defensive end Johnny Jolly’s name did — Jolly also signed his tender on Monday.
When Williams’ name didn’t appear, it was widely assumed he didn’t sign. Had he not signed, the Packers were prepared to reduce their offer to 110 percent of Williams’ 2009 salary, or $584,078.
Safety Atari Bigby remains the Packers’ only unsigned veteran.
Now, if the Packers would just sign Williams to a long-term deal, we won’t have to worry about all of this posturing next offseason.

Yes, good job Williams, now for a long term deal for him and Bigby but if Bigby keeps bitching, i would trade his ass and sign OJ Atogwe as soon as possible, he’s way better than Bigby in coverage and has ball hawk skills. and then make Burnett our starter in a year or two
I totally agree Ray. Bigby’s stance is absurd.
Thanks Jurgens, it is absurd, it all about money for him, not the chance of winning a title with the Packers and getting better as a football player. If i was Bigby, i would settle for a reasonable salary, and get on the field as soon as possible. I wouldnt let a rookie take my job away from me and i would be anxious to help my team win a Superbowl, which the Packers are legit contenders. But it all starts somewhere and that somewhere is OTAs and Training Camp!
Ray – while Atogwe is available, he wants a LOT of money. It goes without saying that TT will not spend a lot of cash on a guy that’s not his. It’s not like he’s a bargain like Bigby. So, to say trade Bigby, even if we could get something for him, and sign Atogwe is not exactly an apples to apples comparison.
Plus, I could be wrong here, but doesn’t Atogwe play the same position as Collins? We need more of a strong safety, rather than a free safety.
All that being said, I agree with you and Monty – Bigby and his agent are idiots. They drafted Burnett his replacement. To not show up is like asking to be cut.
Abe, you could be right, i mean Ted Thompson never spends any money on free agents but remember that first free agent he signed? thats rite, he signed Charles Woodson and for a big contract too so who knows, Ted might take his head out of his ass and spend some money here but like you said, its highly unlikely. But then again, we are significantly under the salary cap and its an uncapped year so maybe Ted will do something but what are the odds? lol and yea Otogwe plays the same position but couldnt he make the switch to SS? its a possibility! another possibility is that we trade for Nnamdi Asomugha, he is on the trading block and i mean having him opposite Charles Woodson would be scary and i wouldnt mind sending a 2nd and 4th rounders for him but then again, im not Ted Thompson so its probably not gonna happen, lol
YES! Trade for Atogwe immediately!! Good call RayV#7, he is much better and you could offer a compensatory draft pick and the rights to Bigby. Sending him to purgatory as punishment for his discretions.
BRING BACK SHARPER!! BRING BACK SHARPER!!
The Packers could have avoided all of this media and fan conjecture by being a little more forthcoming with info. I just can’t fathom why they don’t understand this. Ron Wolf and Bob Harlan got it. Their tactful and succinct communication skills were a big reason they were so highly regarded. Thompson just not getting it only contributes to fans general dislike for him. They don’t even have to do it openly, any idiot could see this coming and when they got the Williams tender back they could have just “leaked”it. It happens all the time in the media.
