Hate to say I told you so…
Ah, who am I kidding? I enjoy saying I told you so.
Pro Football Weekly’s Dan Arkush is reporting the Green Bay Packers are seriously considering releasing Johnny Jolly, who is a restricted free agent and about to go on trial for drug possession in Texas.
Claims that Jolly might have violated terms of his probation have some insiders thinking the team seriously could be considering releasing the restricted free agent, even though he is coming off a very solid ’09 season. Even if the Packers opt to keep Jolly, who has been a no-show at voluntary offseason workouts, we hear the prospect of a possibly lengthy league suspension looms large.
We suggested the same thing last week when Jolly received additional bail restrictions after violating the terms of his bond. Jolly’s behavior, in this case, seems indicative of bigger problems — namely, a shitty, selfish attitude.
That doesn’t exactly make Jolly Packers people.
While it would be unfortunate to lose Jolly’s talent, the Packers are extremely deep on the defensive line and could absorb the loss. In their first OTA session, the Packers had B.J. Raji lining up as the starting nose tackle and last year’s staring nose tackle, Ryan Pickett, lining up at left defensive end, which is the position Jolly plays.
And so, The Hives.

Wow, great prediction. I’m amazed you were certainly the only person watching this situation unfold that thought Green Bay might cut Jolly.
Um, not, gonna, happen.
You don’t cut talent that has trade value.
Let him walk…the Packers have too much integrity to make excuses for his wreckless behavior…
He’ll likely be on the Vikings roster by week 8.
Or in jail…i’d take jail over playing for the Yurple queens.
