Green Bay Packers cornerback/return man Will Blackmon has signed his restricted free agent tender, taking himself off the free agent market.
Blackmon’s one-year tender was for $1.176 million. He signed the deal on Monday when the Packers opened their offseason workout program.
The compensation if another team had signed Blackmon would have been a fourth round pick, but it’s unlikely he was generating much interest. Blackmon tore his ACL in October and had to have major reconstructive surgery.
When he’s healthy, Blackmon is a dynamic return man – he’s returned three punts for touchdowns in his career. It will be interesting to see if he can regain that form.

To bad that guy can’t stay healthy.
I agree with Jeremy…at this point he may be ‘just a dude’. You can draft plenty of those ‘guys’ and seeing that they will do nothing to bring defensive leadership in via free agency, I’m sure that’s the direction we’re heading in this years draft. Woo-hoo…another 9-7 season getting bounced in the first round!
