There was a wide range of reaction to the Minnesota Vikings’ loss to the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship game on Sunday.
To those of us who are Green Bay Packers’ fans, Brett Favre’s game-killing, bone-headed interception wasn’t a surprise. In fact, we knew all along that Favre would eventually force a ball into coverage that would end the Vikings’ season just like he had so many times in Green Bay. Our faith paid off on Sunday and we rejoiced in the inevitable Vikings’ failure.
However, over in Vikings’ land the reaction was somewhat different. Over in Vikings’ land they were too stupid to consider 18 seasons of evidence, and somehow thought it would end differently. That, then, added a touch of hilarity to the Vikings’ demise.
Take, for instance, this Vikings’ fan.
You can go ahead and turn that No. 4 jersey in at your local Goodwill.
If you need another laugh, check out the Vikings’ play-by-play team where color man Pete Bercich couldn’t quite control himself after the interception, yelling what I’m sure will become the famous line, “Why do you even ponder passing? I mean, you can take a knee! And try a 56-yard field goal! This is not Detroit, man, this is the Super Bowl!”

It’s positively delightful.
At the moment, it’s unlikely we’ll get another replay of this season. Favre told Ed Werder it’s highly unlikely he’ll play next season. Of course, we all know that’s subject to change.
