Darryl Tapp: Might As Well Play For the Vikings

Darryl Tapp
"Football players taste good!"

Who is Darryl Tapp?

He’s a mediocre defensive end for this week’s Green Bay Packers opponent, the Seattle Seahawks. And, according to Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, he’s also a guy who bites people on the football field.

We don’t have confirmation of this yet, but we hear the Minnesota Vikings are trying to work a trade for Tapp right now, since he would carry on their long tradition of scumbaggery and douchiness.

But that’s beside the point.

Rodgers claims Tapp bit him during last year’s Packers/Seahawks game, a 27-17 Packers’ victory. That’s right – bit him.

“Tapp actually bit me last year through my jersey. I wasn’t too happy about that,” Rodgers said on Wednesday. “He bit me through my long-sleeve I was wearing.”

“Lucikly, I was wearing a long sleeve, so I don’t know if he actually (broke the skin). I had a bruise there for the rest of the season. Other than that I was good.”

Tapp replied via Twitter, denying the incident.

“How can a football player bite another player when he’s wearing a helmet and mouthpiece c’mon ppl let’s be serious here. And of all ppl me?”

Honestly, that’s a good question.

Maybe Aaron Rodgers was instructed by the NFL to drum up some controversy for the game to get people interested in it. As it stands, the Packers should roll the Seahawks, who are 5-9 and coming off a 24-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

A game like this doesn’t really make for good ratings.

Who the hell knows?

But if Rodgers’ story is actually true, they better get a purple jersey ready with Tapp’s name on it.
