Surprise! Favre To Meet With Childress About Comeback

Brett Favre
Favre is making a dash for Minnesota.

Never saw this coming. Never in a million years.

ESPN’s Ed Werder is reporting that Brett Favre will meet with Minnesota Vikings’ coach Brad Childress to discuss a possible comeback.

There has been all kinds of speculation that something like this would happen since Favre was granted his release from the New York Jets.

While Favre hasn’t decided anything just yet, the fact that he’s meeting with Childress is a strong indication that the Green Bay Packers, and their fans, should begin preparing themselves to face a pissed off Brett Favre twice this season.

I’d encourage you to watch the videos that went along with Werder’s report, particularly those with John Clayton and Chris Mortensen.

Mortensen presents the notion that Favre is more likely to have to be talked out of coming back, rather than talked into it.

Werder also reveals some interesting insights in his story, mainly that Favre’s torn biceps tendon and how it reacts is probably the only thing keeping him out of purple.

Favre has not been working out and declined to have surgery to repair the torn biceps tendon that plagued him the final month of last season.

Favre may believe the injury can heal on its own as did a similar problem with his left shoulder while he played in Green Bay. A source close to Favre told ESPN’s Chris Mortensen that how the injury heals will play a role in the quarterback’s decision.

The source also said that the quarterback’s agent, Bus Cook, is researching unemployed NFL quarterback coaches to see if one can be hired to work with Favre in Mississippi while he ponders a possible return.

Werder also mentions Favre’s desire to come back because of his resentment towards Packers’ general manager Ted Thompson, which is no news to anyone around here.

Unfortunately, the fans don’t make personnel decisions for the Packers, but the fans will be the ones who have to suffer through watching Favre don a puke purple uniform. If Brett comes back, I guess the best we can hope for is that he ends up in a big pile of Cullen Jenkins, B.J. Raji and Ryan Pickett.

If Favre returns and plays with the Vikings Ill will be so horribly pissed off and angry at him. I will pull my hall of fame deposit and use that $400 for something better in my life and if he does play for the vikes, i may even get rid of my #4 jersey. This is bullshit and its getting old. He is fucking all of us hardcore loyal fans if he makes this rumor reality!

    Matt

Not scared either. This will only end badly for a man who I have lost all respect for. My open letter to Brett will be posted tomorrow…
