The day you’ve been waiting for has finally arrived. The Green Bay Packers will get God’s Gifts himself back on the field today!
Coach Mike McCarthy said tight end Andrew Quarless, who had been on short-term injured reserve, will take part in Monday’s practice.
“I think the position has a lot to do with it. Him coming back is by design,” McCarthy said. “We wanted him to practice in pads. That will benefit him as much as anybody.”
As McCarthy alluded to, the Packers are practicing in pads today. Gifts hasn’t been through a padded practice since prior to his knee injury, which was in late September.
He’ll obviously have some rust to work off.
The Packers will have 21 days from today to determine whether or not they’ll activate Quarless. If they choose not to, they will either have to release him or put him on season-ending injured reserve.
Of course, we also expect Gifts to be suspended for waving a gun around and pretending to be a plant. So that complicates matters a bit.
Although Gifts is nothing more than an average player, literally anything is an improvement over DickRodge.
The sooner Gifts can join the active roster, the better.
