The Chicago Bears aren’t the only team aiming to sign Green Bay Packers defensive end Cullen Jenkins. The Washington Redskins are reportedly interested as well. Jenkins will be a free agent when the NFL’s offseason finally begins. The Packers have expressed no interest in re-signing the veteran, even though he’s coming off a season where he recorded a career-high seven sacks.
The Green Bay Packers have had their share of draft busts over the years. Some have been epic (Tony Mandarich), while others have snuck out of town almost unnoticed (Terrence Murphy). Well, thankfully we’re here to dredge up your past failures, point our gnarled, crooked, judgmental fingers at you and cackle. For you’ve shamed the […]
It seems like we were talking about this at this time last year. Oh yeah, we were. Then-Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was clearly on his way out of Philly and Brett Favre was giving every indication he planned on staying retired, which, in hindsight would have been a tremendous idea. So, why not reunite McNabb with his former offensive coordinator, then-Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress? Obviously, a lot has changed since then.
I’m not suggesting Green Bay Packers running back James Starks is going to turn into the Houston Texans Arian Foster next season, but this is a comparison of two opposites.
I chose Foster, the NFL’s leading rusher in 2010, and Smith, who rushed for a record 204 yards in Super Bowl XXII as a member of the Washington Redskins, because they both came out of nowhere, much like Starks.
We’re biased, but we obviously think the best rivalry in the NFL is the Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings. Frankly, I wouldn’t piss on a Vikings fan if he were on fire and I felt that way even before a long-time hero decided he needed to stab an entire fan base in the back. […]
If any of you watched the turd laid by the Chicago Bears, particularly on offense, in their loss to the Washington Redskins, last Sunday, then you deserve an apology. Actually, you deserve an apology from the NFL for even putting crap like that on TV. Both teams are terrible offensively. Most of all, the guy […]
The Green Bay Packers did everything they could to keep the Washington Redskins in the football game for four quarters. In the end, the Redskins finally took advantage to win 16-13 on a Graham Gano 33-yard field goal in overtime. After a strong first half, the Packers offense failed to do anything of note in […]
Brady: The time is now for Aaron Rodgers. All the preseason talk about his validity as a league MVP candidate will be put to the test starting now, as it seems apparent that nobody on the Green Bay Packers defense can stay healthy. What’s the easiest way Rodgers can help the Packers’ defense? Scoring points. […]
The Green Bay Packers offense looks like a juggernaut going into the 2010 season. The possibilities of this season got me thinking about some of the greatest individual seasons by teammates in NFL history. The Packers had two 1,000-yard receivers, a 1,000-yard rusher and a 4,000-yard passer in 2009. Those numbers came courtesy of Greg […]
National Football Post founder and former Green Bay Packers vice president Andrew Brandt has written a few posts about free agency in the NFL, recently. The short of his message is this: it usually doesn’t work out. One of the exceptions to the rule, however, was the Packers signing of cornerback Charles Woodson. As we […]
Earlier in the offseason, the Green Bay Packers expressed interest in free agent running back Brian Westbrook. The former Philadelphia Eagles star has had injury problems his entire career and missed eight games with concussions in 2009, but when healthy, Westbrook has been a force, twice rushing for 1,200 yards. Now 30, Westbrook appears near […]
Houston Texans’ linebacker Brian Cushing won the defensive rookie of the year again, in an unprecedented re-vote by the Associated Press, which hands out the award. The re-vote was called after Cushing was suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league’s policy on steroids and related substances. Cushing didn’t receive anywhere near the […]
Now that Houston Texans’ linebacker Brian Cushing has been suspended for violating the league’s policy on steroids and related substances, the Associated Press, which presents the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year Award, has decided to re-vote for the honor. Cushing will remain on the ballot, but there’s a chance he won’t win the award […]
The 2010 Green Bay Packers’ schedule is highlighted by one Monday night game and three Sunday night games. The Packers will face the the Bears in Chicago on Monday, Sept. 27. The Sunday night games are Oct. 24 vs. the Vikings at Lambeau Field, Nov. 7 vs. the Cowboys at Lambeau Field, and Dec. 29 […]
One thing we haven’t discussed in relation to this week’s NFL Draft is the possibility of the Green Bay Packers trading up. The reason we haven’t discussed it is because Packers’ general manager Ted Thompson has only traded up twice in his five years on the job. He did, of course, move up last year […]
Although it will be quieter today than it was yesterday, we’ll again keep running updates throughout the day with the latest news at the top of the page. Check out the day one free agent rundown here. ———- OK, the Aaron Kampman saga continues to get weirder. The Eagles have refuted the report below that […]
We’re going to update this post throughout the day simply because there already is a lot going on and there will be a lot more in the free for all known as NFL free agency. The most recent news will be at the top. ———- Safety Antrel Rolle was the last big signing of the […]
The Green Bay Packers are certainly in the market for tackles this offseason. Both 2009 starters, Chad Clifton and Mark Tauscher, are free agents. While the Packers may re-sign them simply because they don’t want to rely on two young and unproven tackles, both are at the end of the road and need to be […]
