It seemed like almost a foregone conclusion the Green Bay Packers would lose assistant head coach Winston Moss to the Oakland Raiders. That may not be the case anymore.
The Raiders, who are looking to replace Hue Jackson as head coach and recently hired former Packers director of pro personnel Reggie McKenzie as general manager, already interviewed Moss. The interview reportedly took place on January 14 after the Packers finished a walk-through in preparation for getting their asses handed to them by the New York Giants.
The Raiders will also interview Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Mike Tice, but Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg appears to have emerged as the favorite. That’s good news for the Packers.
After losing offensive coordinator Joe Philbin to the Miami Dolphins, the team’s coaching staff could have virtually been emptied if both Philbin and Moss filled their new coaching staffs with Packers assistants.
