The Green Bay Packers practice squad is set after the team filled the last of their eight spots on Monday. Here’s a look at who’s on it and where they came from.
Cornerback James Nixon — spent part of the preseason with the Packers after being signed as a undrafted free agent by Arizona out of California (Pa.). Nixon is what you’d call a project, considering he only played cornerback full time during his final college season.
Receiver Charles Johnson — was one of the Packers seventh-round draft choices this season, but barely got on the field at all because of injury. When he did get on the field, he flashed some potential, but that small sample wasn’t enough to earn him a roster spot. It was enough to get him on the practice squad.
Receiver Myles White — is another of the Packers undrafted rookie free agent. He’s out of Louisiana Tech. White was actually fairly impressive at times during the preseason. We’ll see what he looks like with a little seasoning.
Tight end Jake Stoneburner — was signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State. Seems to have both the physicality and athleticism the Packers like at tight end. Stoneburner caught B.J. Coleman’s only preseason touchdown.
Quarterback Scott Tolzien — former Wisconsin Badgers great! Or something like that. Tolzien spent the majority of the past two seasons on San Francisco’s active roster, but played poorly this preseason and lost his spot. Oh, and probably not coincidentally, the Packers play the 49ers this week.
Guard Bobby Collins — was an signed as an undrafted free agent by Houston. Collins (6-3, 301) played at SMU, where he started 20 games and was a second-team All-Conference USA selection as a senior. He worked out for the Packers on Sunday and they obviously liked what they saw.
Tackle Aaron Adams — was signed by the Browns as and undrafted free agent out of Eastern Kentucky. Adams (6-5, 303) was two-time All-Ohio Valley Conference.
Running back Michael Hill — was signed as an undrafted free agent by San Diego our of Missouri Western, where he rushed for 4,969 yards and 35 touchdowns, while averaging 6 yards per carry.
