You could say a lot of things about the Green Bay Packers 45-17 victory over the New York Giants.
You could say it’s good to have Aaron Rodgers as your quarterback.
Rodgers, returning from a concussion, threw for 404 yards and four touchdowns against the No. 2 defense in the league.
You could say Giants quarterback Eli Manning had a bad day or the Packers defense was opportunistic.
Manning threw four interceptions and the Packers’ D created a total of six turnovers.
You could say the Packers receivers outperformed the Giants receivers.
Greg Jennings was unstoppable with seven receptions and 142 yards. Jordy Nelson recorded four for 124, including an 80-yard touchdown. Donald Driver came up with a couple big catches and showed he still has a little left in the tank.
You could say John Kuhn is having his best season.
Kuhn piled up three touchdowns — two rushing and one receiving, the second of which essentially iced the game. He also ran hard and picked up some key first downs.
You could say the Packers’ below-average offensive line played one of their best games of the season.
The line held the Giants vaunted pass rush to one sack.
You could say that despite Antrel Rolle’s guarantee of a win, the Giants looked pedestrian.
If you said this team has no heart, I wouldn’t argue with you.
You could say the Green Bay Packers are a team no one wants to face in the playoffs.
But you wouldn’t say that because the Packers haven’t secured a playoff spot yet.
While you can say any of those things and be correct, the most important thing is the Green Bay Packers faced a must-win game today and they went out and crushed a talented opponent.
If the Packers win next week against Chicago, they’re playoff bound.
And then we can start saying all kinds of things.
