This hasn’t gone according to plan.
This was supposed to be the year Jeff Janis made a major contribution as a receiver for the Green Bay Packers. The ascension hasn’t really taken place yet and a hand injury just might eliminate any possibility of that happening.
Janis fractured a bone in his hand during practice on Wednesday. That injury cost him Friday’s preseason opener and could have Janis sidelined for much of the exhibition slate, according to Rob Demovsky.
Janis has been battling Davante Adams and Jared Abbrederis for the No. 3 receiver spot. Thus far, he’s been losing. When the Packers released their first depth chart at the beginning of the week, Janis was listed with the third team.
This injury certainly won’t help his cause to improve that position.
