Brett Favre has chosen his wife Deanna to be his Hall of Fame induction ceremony presenter.
That comes as somewhat of a surprise. Only one guy has been presented by his wife before Favre. That was former Chicago Bears linebacker Mike Singletary.
Favre admitted last week that if his father Irv were still alive, he would have presented him. Irv Favre died in December 2003 and the next day Brett went out and torched the Oakland Raiders to the tune of 399 yards and four touchdowns.
A lot of Hall of Famers choose teammates or coaches as their presenter. Favre certainly had noted bonds with teammates Frank Winters and Mark Chmura and coach Mike Holmgren.
There will be a couple other Green Bay Packers connections on August 6, when Favre enters the Hall.
Former outside linebackers coach Kevin Greene will also be enshrined. He’s being presented by Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers, who coached Greene in Pittsburgh and Carolina.
