[tps_title]A potentially healthy offensive line[/tps_title]
Look, the Green Bay Packers offensive line as a whole is subpar, but they’re probably the worst unit in the league when they have to turn to backups not named J.C. Tretter or Lane Taylor.
Don Barclay was not the answer at left tackle. Josh Walker is not the answer at any position. Left guard Josh Sitton is not a tackle.
The Packers have gone through all of these players at one tackle position or another in the last two weeks and the results have been disastrous.
Starting left tackle David Bakhtiari has missed the last two games with an ankle injury. Starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga left the loss in Arizona because… yeah, because he’s always injured.
Frankly, neither of these guys is really any good, but the drop off between them and the guys behind them is huge.
The important thing is the Packers can win with the brand of mediocrity authored by Bakhtiari and Bulaga. If Bakhtiari can return this week — and we expect him to — the Packers are a slightly better team than the one that’s lost the past two weeks.
And that’s very realistically enough to get by Washington.
