I got this frantic email from one of my boys yesterday about Aaron Rodgers.
Anyone else reading camp reports that he has been picked off 36 times in 4 practices? Should we be concerned he’s turning into Monty’s boy cutty? It’s either that or we have some ball hawks in the secondary, let’s hope for the latter.
I didn’t give it much thought because… “we talkin’ bout practice.”
“Not a game! Not a game! We talkin’ bout practice.”
But it appears Rodgers has been getting picked a lot. The situation isn’t quite as dire as described above, but Rodgers has thrown five interceptions through six training camp practices, according to Ryan Wood.
While that’s not a huge number, we’re not talking about Brett Favre here. We’re talking about a guy who hardly throws any picks at all — a guy who threw five all of last season.
So what could be wrong here?
Has Aaron been struck by the curse of Jessica Simpson?
Probably not.
Those training camp interceptions? As CUTTY! would say — Doooooooooooon’t Caaaaaaaaaare!
Rodgers is going to throw some balls in practice that he wouldn’t throw in a game. He’s also playing with some guys who won’t get much action in games and might not even be on the team in a month.
In other words, who gives a shit?
What’s more interesting here is who has those five interceptions.
These guys have one each — veterans Sam Shields and Morgan Burnett, and first-round pick Damarious Randall. So who has two picks of Rodgers? Undrafted rookie corner LaDarius Gunter.
