All of that hubbub for pretty much nothing.
Defensive tackle Letroy Guion is a free man with no criminal record despite getting caught with a gigantic bag of week, a gun and around $190,000 in cash in his truck back in February in Starke, Florida.
Guion reached a plea deal on Tuesday.
He’ll pay a $5,000 fine, plus court costs, but that’s it. The felony drug charges against Guion have been dismissed.
The civil forfeiture case, where Starke PD seized Guion’s cash and his brand new Dodge truck is still pending. If Guion is able to recoup those items — and there’s no reason he shouldn’t be able to — we’d say he got off pretty easy for being a total moron.
Now that that’s settled, the focus will surely turn to getting a new contract done with the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers were negotiating a new deal with Guion during the season and they’ve stood by him throughout this ordeal. With this roadblock formally lifted, it should pave the way for a return to the fold.
