Here we thought the days of Adrian Peterson running around and through the Green Bay Packers were over.
All indications were that he had likely played his last game with the Minnesota Vikings after being suspended by the league for abusing one of his many illegitimate children.
Well, now the Vikings have changed their tune on Peterson. After previously being noncommittal about his future with the team, they’re now saying they expect Peterson to return to the team.
#Vikings GM Rick Spielman more definitive than in past today: "We expect Adrian Peterson to be a part of our football team."

Something tells us this situation would be different if the Vikings were in full-on rebuilding mode (or if Peterson were a marginal player). Don’t get me wrong, the Vikings are still garbage, but they’re now a young team that’s quite possibly trending upward.
Peterson’s return gives the Vikings two things.
It likely gives them an additional two wins, which could put them at that nice, mediocre 8-8 level they’re comfortable with. It also puts asses in the seats. Since the Queens are playing their second season at TCF Bank Stadium while the new Hormel Chili Dome is being concocted, they can probably use help there too.
Of course, the Vikings are known for harboring criminals and scumbags, so why would this decision be any different, especially when that guy can make you a bunch of money?
It’s the Minnesota Vikings way!
They should get a new slogan.
Minnesota Vikings football — character not required.
