The Green Bay Packers upgraded right tackle Bryan Bulaga from questionable to probable Saturday morning.
Bulaga, who suffered a concussion on a blind-side hit last Sunday against Buffalo, had been going through the league’s concussion protocol. He didn’t practice this week, but always seemed like a lock to play.
Obviously, he cleared the final stage of the concussion protocol before the Packers left for Tampa.
“I think we’re on a good track right now, so we’ll see what comes about tomorrow and go from there,” Bulaga said Friday. “I think I still need to go through a few more steps in testing and seeing the independent neurologist check what we have to do. I think I have a couple more steps.”
This is good news for Bulaga, although we weren’t going to be terribly concerned if he didn’t play.
J.C. Tretter, who is the backup at right tackle, has looked more than capable. What’s more, the Buccaneers are without injured defensive tackle Gerald McCoy. No one else in Tampa’s front seven is going to scare anyone, so Sunday’s game should be a walk in the park for the Packers offensive line.
