The Green Bay Packers have listed concussed cornerback Sam Shields as questionable on their official injury report for Monday night’s game.
Alliteration! Bam!
It’s very possible Shields will be able to play though. He just has to complete the league’s concussion protocol.
“Sam Shields is obviously going through the protocol. The medical staff has told me he still has a chance to play,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. “He’ll be given the opportunity to play in the game if everything goes right.”
Shields suffered the concussion during the Packers’ win over New England and didn’t finish the game. Davon House took his place and played fairly well.
That being said, we can’t name a Patriots’ receiver other than Brandon LaFell. The Packers will be facing Julio Jones and Roddy White on Monday night. Both of those guys are far superior to any New England wide receiver.
If we had to guess, we’re guessing Shields plays.
There’s better news on the injured defensive linemen. Both Mike Daniels and Josh Boyd missed some practice time this week with soreness.
Both are listed as probable for Monday night and McCarthy said he anticipates both players will be full strength for the game.
