One of the injuries to come out of the Green Bay Packers throttling of the Carolina Panthers on Sunday was cornerback Davon House.
House, who started for the injured Sam Shields, dislocated a finger knocking away a pass in the fourth quarter. He didn’t return, but no worries.
On Monday, House said he plans on practicing when the team hits the field on Wednesday. Good news for the Packers, as we don’t expect Shields and his balky knee to be ready when the Packers face the Saints this week.
Tramon Williams, the Packers’ other injured corner, played with a sprained ankle on Sunday, although you wouldn’t have known it.
Williams didn’t do anything in practice leading up to the game, which made it somewhat surprising to see him in the starting lineup. After the game, he said he felt fine.
That should give the Packers a top three of Williams, House and Casey Hayward to face Drew Brees, barring a surprise recovery by Shields.
