ESPN the Magazine published a profile on former Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez last week. In it, Gonzalez described an incident against the Green Bay Packers where Morgan Burnett was taunting him.
No teammates came to Gonzalez’s defense during the game, so he decided to retire right then, as the story goes. When Burnett heard of this, he denied it.
We surmised that Gonzalez had his Packers mixed up since Burnett didn’t cover him during the game. Well, Jarrett Bush stepped up and admitted he was the guy talking trash to Gonzalez in a Twitter conversation with Rob Demovsky.
@RobDemovsky @TonyGonzalez88 it started first series 3rd down Rob lol #funfact

Mystery solved!
Whatever Bush was going during that game, it worked. Gonzalez had just three catches for 25 yards. Bush, meanwhile, had a pick and knocked down two passes.
