Aaron Rodgers Once Looked Like a Parade Float
This gave me a chuckle. USA Today did an interview with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ high school coach Ron Souza about Rodgers.
They went into the usual stuff — how he didn’t get recruited heavily, the chip on the shoulder, his drive, the pro accomplishments, etc.
The best part of it was this exchange, though.
Word is, Aaron didn’t have the “We always knew he’d be a pro” story.
Oh no! As a freshman he was about 5-foot-2 and about 115 pounds. He wore a size 14 shoe and he had huge hands. I mean he looked like a Macy’s parade float or something his hands were so huge and his body was so small.
This photo was probably taken when he grew into his body a little more, but…
On a side note, while I was searching for photos of Rodgers in high school, I came across this one. I believe this was while he was at Butte Community College.
How ironic that he’s wearing No. 4 there, huh?
Monty McMahon is one of the founders of Total Packers. He is probably the most famous graduate of UW-Oshkosh next to Jim Gantner.
