Mason Crosby, Eddie Lacy are Players of the Month
The NFL handed out its player of the month awards today and two Green Bay Packers took home some hardware… or a certificate… or a ribbon… or whatever. They were Mason Crosby and Eddie Lacy.
Crosby won the NFC special teams player of the month and Lacy was the NFL offensive rookie of the month.
Crosby has pulled his head out of his ass after a disastrous 2012 season, where he produced a career low field goal percentage. Perhaps because he had to win his job back in the offseason, Crosby has been pretty much lights out this year. In October, Crosby hit 11 of his 13 kicks.
He also went 5 for 5 against Detroit.
Lacy, meanwhile, has piled up 395 rushing yards over the past four games. That’s the highest total in the NFL over that stretch.
He gained more than 80 yards rushing in all four games, including a season-high 120 against Baltimore. Lacy also had two rushing touchdowns in October.
Monty McMahon is one of the founders of Total Packers. He is probably the most famous graduate of UW-Oshkosh next to Jim Gantner.
