Mike McCarthy Will Not Respond to Jim Harbaugh

Mike McCarthy

We told you about San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh’s “tough guy” rant about Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews, yesterday. Well, when given a chance to respond to Harbaugh’s whining, Packers coach Mike McCarthy took a pass.

“I have no idea what his intent is. I addressed Harbaugh’s comments in the team meeting, and as always we’ll stay above it,” McCarthy said.

In our eyes, that’s kind of classy way of saying, “Jim, you’re a real dick. Now piss off.”

This all stems from Matthews’ late hit on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the altercation that followed. While McCarthy said he didn’t condone the hit, he also stood by his player.

“Playing hard. I think it’s football. I think much is blown out of proportion. Clay played very well in the game. That was one of his couple bad plays.”

Matthews was indeed one of the bright spots for a Packers defense that didn’t have too many of them. He finished with eight tackles, including three for a loss and a sack.

How about when Harbaugh was asked if he respected Clay, he said-
“I don’t really have any more comment about it”

McCarthy plays the coach part very well. He advocates for his players but at the same time mitigates any chance for a distraction. His ability to focus the team after the Patriots loss in 2010 (last time Pack lost back to back games) and the infamous Fail Mary game is admirable.

The last thing the Packers need right now is a bitching match between the two coaches or the players to focus on last week. Making RGIII cower in fear to avoid his 3rd ACL tear should be their focus.

Monty talk to Shawn and let me know what I have to do to write and article for your website. I know you dont know me shit from shinola or if you do you dont agree with my posts. The simple fact is we need to finally write an article about the wasting of Aaron Rodgers career and what it means to the NFL and to our franchise.

I personally am writing Aaron a letter suggesting he go find a team that is interested in winning a Super Bowl for him.

I’m thinking it’s way too early to be writing off the season. Rookies can “get it”. Others get hurt, replacements may or may not step up. Key players on other teams could get hurt. There are 16 weeks left of the regular season. A lot can happen. I keep thinking back to 2010 when we won the super bowl. I wrote the season off after the loss to Detroit. Buck up, camper!

You know what… There are a lot of stupid things said on here. This takes the cake; this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read on this site. Please take your buffoonery elsewhere.

PS.. I love the picture of MM because it fits perfectly with is nickname ‘Meathead’. How the fuck did this idiot become a head coach? Based upon MM’s success I should feel willing to try my hand at Nascar. Who says I cant make it?

  5. This dude needs some personal work on the sideline ..next time maybe Matthews will ‘accidently’ come flying out of bounds and knock this whiner out…at Lambeau would be special…
